Finn Haley – Board Chair
Finn Haley is both the founder of Food Rx and an ulcerative colitis patient, having been diagnosed with the disease while in college. He is currently head of business development for a medical products division within 3M Company. Prior to that, Mr. Haley advised healthcare companies on a range of financial matters while working at Piper Jaffray & Co. in Minneapolis. Previously, he served as an analyst in the mergers and acquisitions group at Duff & Phelps Corp., a financial services firm in Chicago. Finn graduated with distinction from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with degrees in Finance, Investment & Banking, Real Estate and Urban Land Economics.
Christopher Ugarte – Vice Chair and Director
Chris Ugarte is an attorney at C.H. Robinson, one of the world’s largest third party logistics providers. Prior to his current job, Mr. Ugarte was a litigator and appellate attorney at Fafinski Mark & Johnson, P.A. His practice included experience in handling commercial, employment, aviation, medical malpractice defense and personal injury matters. Mr. Ugarte is a graduate of Loyola Law School Chicago, a member of the Hispanic Bar Association, and has three times been recognized by Minnesota Law & Politics as a “Rising Star,“ a distinction earned by less than 2% of attorneys.
Meghan Lind – Secretary and Director
Meghan Lind is an attorney in the Trial Group at Dorsey & Whitney LLP, a Minneapolis-based law firm. Ms. Lind specializes in civil litigation with an emphasis on health litigation. She also serves as Secretary on the board of directors, with responsibility for ensuring the accuracy and sufficiency of organizational documentation. Ms. Lind received a BA from Boston College, graduating magna cum laude. She also holds a JD from Northwestern University Law School, where she graduated cum laude.
Arun Arora – Treasurer and Director
Arun Arora is currently Chief Financial Officer, the Americas, at Groupon in Chicago. Previously, Mr. Arora served as Vice President and Treasurer at Mentor Graphics, a publicly traded system software company. Prior to that role, Arun served as Vice President of Corporate Development at Sun Microsystems, and as an investment banker at both Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse First Boston. Mr. Arora holds a bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Kansas and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Jessica Mueller – Director
Jessica Mueller is a Director at the Food Rx Project, and assists with a variety of operational and fundraising activities. Ms. Mueller is employed by Carleton College as a Director of Graduate Placement and Fundraising. Ms. Mueller holds undergraduate degrees in English, Creative Writing, and Women’s Studies from Kalamazoo College. She did her graduate work at Goddard College.
Medical Advisor
David P. Rakel, MD
Dr. Rakel started his career near the Teton Mountains in Driggs, Idaho where he was in rural private practice for five years before completing a two-year residential fellowship in integrative medicine at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center. He is the founder and director of the University of Wisconsin Integrative Medicine Program and associate professor with tenure in the department on family medicine at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Rakel is editor of one of the premier texts in this field titled, Integrative Medicine now with the 3rd edition in progress. He is involved in NIH funding to study the placebo effect and to incorporate healing modalities into medical school curricula. He is board certified in family and holistic medicine and sits on the board of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine and is on the executive committee for the Consortium of Academic Health Centers for Integrative Medicine. He has been awarded a number of teaching awards including the Baldwin E. Lloyd clinical teacher award, the UW Department of Family Medicine faculty excellence award, the Marc Hansen lecture award and the resident teacher-of-the-year award. He has a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine and is certified in interactive guided imagery. Meet Dr. Rakel.
