The Food Rx Project is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization committed to educating patients, healthcare providers, and the general public about the benefits of using diet, nutrition, Integrative Medicine (IM), and a healthy lifestyle to treat chronic disease. Food Rx was founded in 2010, and officially incorporated as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit in 2011.
Today, patients need to be active participants in discussing all of their IBD treatment options with their healthcare providers. Doing so requires proactive research on the part of the patient. Our goal is to provide evidence-based information to improve the lives of IBD patients who elect to use integrative therapies under the direction of informed physicians.
Food Rx is funded through the generous donations of the public. We are proud that all of the donations we receive go directly to purchasing research materials and books for patients, to operating the website, and to funding clinical research into the effectiveness of diet as a tool for treating IBD.
